Message from your PTA President

Hello Wildcats!

On behalf of the entire PTA Board, I would like to welcome your family to the 2019-2020 school year! We join you in the anticipation of an exciting and productive year. This is my first year as the PTA president, and I am looking forward to serving your family and our school. I am eager to share with you the goals and exciting plans of this year’s PTA.

First and foremost, we hope to encourage and foster a strong Westchester community.  We also hope to increase active PTA memberships, support new clubs and extracurricular activities, provide additional Social and Emotional Learning opportunities for our students through assemblies and in school performances, as well as continue to partner with administration to provide valuable educational programs for our students. The PTA would also like to continue to support some old favorites such as Scholastic magazines for each student, Kids of Character, as well as various grade level specific activities.

This year we hope to provide more volunteering opportunities at various times to allow all families the chance to participate, as well as offer some fun family-friendly activities and fundraisers. For example, we will be hosting a movie night at Paragon Theaters in the fall, along with our annual Social in February.  We will continue to work diligently to help families stay informed of school events and important information through our Facebook page (@PTAWestchester), our website (www.westchesterpta.com), and the newest addition to our PTA the Member Hub (Westchester.memberhub.com).  In the near future the Member Hub will be live, so keep your eye out!

Our vision this year is to continue to build our sense of community and bring our families together through fun! This year’s PTA board is full of new ideas, enthusiasm, and commitment. We are proud to report that we have already begun working with Mrs. Geraine and the school staff over the summer to provide a smooth start to the new school year with a great Meet and Greet on August 13th.

Whether you’ve never been a PTA member or are a committed PTA parent, let this be the year to join me, the board, and the entire Wildcat family as we embark on a quest to ensure that Westchester reaches its greatest potential.  The great things that are in store this year will really flourish with your support. Let’s start the year off right, join us at our PTA Welcome Breakfast and Meeting on August 19thduring drop off until 8:30am in the cafeteriato learn more about everything that’s to come and meet other Westchester Parents.  We will then formally meet for our first PTA meeting on September 10that 8:15am in the cafeteria.
