Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation week is May 6 – 10th!

We hope that you have all heard from your room parent regarding your child’s specific class plans to celebrate their teacher. If you haven’t yet heard from your room parent, please attempt to contact them directly. If you don’t have their contact information, please reach out to your teacher for this.

The PTA is excited to celebrate all of our teachers, and this year we are planning a travel theme, because our teachers make a “World” of difference. Each day we would like to present the teachers with something related to a spot in the world. For example, on Monday they will be “traveling” to America and we are hosting an old-fashioned grill out for lunch.  In order to pull this off, we are asking for your help!

  • We are asking for store-bought sweet treat donations from around the world! We are collecting pastries, donuts, cupcakes, brownies, etc. Please send these items in on May 7th, so we will have them available for the teachers to enjoy with coffee or tea on May 8th.
  • In addition to sweet treats, we are also asking for donations for a teacher “souvenir” shop that we will present to teachers on the final day of Teacher Appreciation Week.  We already have some wonderful items donated, such as gift cards to local restaurants, book sets, and a DVD player, but we are in need of MANY more! If you can help in anyway with donating or asking someone who can, we would be most grateful! Please send all items in by Wednesday, May 8th if possible.
  • Lastly, we are also always in need of K-Cups to stock our teachers lounge. Would you believe that on most days, there is no coffee/tea available for our teachers?  Lets keep them caffeinated! Please donate K-Cups of coffee, tea or cocoa at any time, but especially during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Please consider donating in all three areas, as we are trying to make this week the best one yet for our wonderful teachers!

We appreciate your time, your donations, and continuous support to make Westchester all that it can be.

Westchester Safety Reminders

Dear Wildcat Families,

We would like to provide you with a few safety reminders and clarify our procedures:

•    Everyone must bring their I.D.’s each time they enter the school – No Exceptions.
•    Current volunteer badges only will be accepted to enter the school.
•    Everyone is expected to enter through the front office ONLY.
•    The back parking lot walk through gate will open for students at 7:15AM.
•    The bus loop on 123rd Ave. is NOT a student drop off or pick-up area.

As always we will continue to ensure that safety is our #1 priority. The CSPD will have an officer on campus each day to ensure the safety of our staff and students and to monitor procedures.

We have many practice drills throughout the year that are announced and unannounced. As always, we will continue to share our procedures at our parent meetings and school emails. We are here to support our Wildcat students and families in any way we can.

We thank you for your cooperation!

Sincerely,
Ms. Geraine
Ms. Goodman
Mr. Saban
